DUSHANBE, January 23, 2009, Asia-Plus – State and development issues of Tajik and Russian relations were discussed by the Sharif Said, national coordinator from Tajikistan and Dmitriy Mezentcev, Russian national coordinator in the SCO Business Council in China.

According to press-service of Tajik Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the sides have discussed investment policy issues, establishment of joint ventures in various Tajik economy spheres. It were noted that the trade turnover between Tajikistan and Russian Federation exceed $1 billion  in 2008.

In addition, the sides also discussed perspectives of cooperation in healthcare sphere. Dmitriy Mezentcev has noted, that within the framework of the program of Organization of protection of health and social protection SCO area the last year have passed routine inspection and have received advices by a brigade of the Russian doctors more than 3 thousand 300 inhabitants of the remote mountain areas of Tajikistan. Thereupon were noted that cooperation of Russian and Tajik physicians will continue in 2009.

Thus discussed issues of manpower policy, were reached agreement of preparation of specialist in sphere of healthcare for Tajikistan in Russian, in the 2

nd

Moscow Medical Institute.

According to Tajik Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the sides have also discussed issues of labour migration.
