DUSHANBE, January 4, 2009, Asia-Plus  — On Wednesday February 4, Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov received visiting Iran’s Minister of Commerce Masoud Mirkazemi.

According to presidential press service, state and prospects of further expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran were a major topic of the meeting.

In the course of the talks, the two, in particular, touched upon issues related to attraction of investments and participation of Iranian companies in a number of investment projects in Tajikistan.

As it had been reported earlier, Iran’s Minister of Commerce Masoud Mirkazemi arrived in Dushanbe Tuesday evening on a two-day visit to discuss with Tajik officials ways to expand trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

During his stay in Dushanbe, Mr. Mirkazemi is also scheduled to hold talks with a number of other Tajik state officials.  He will also attend a groundbreaking ceremony for construction of Iran’s Trading Center in Dushanbe.
