The European Union expresses hope that Kyrgyzstan will continue cooperation in stabilization and reconstruction of Afghanistan, Mr. Cristina Gallach, Spokesperson for Javier Solana, EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy told the new agency “24.kg” Thursday.
“The situation in Afghanistan is deteriorating still further and the international community is assuming its responsibilities in increasing its efforts to stabilise Afghanistan and provide aid and reconstruction. We look forward to Kyrgyzstan”s continued cooperation with these efforts,” the spokesperson said.
However, the Union does not see how the reported intention of the Kyrgyz authorities to close the base at Manas would help with this.
