A working meeting of the Russian-Turkmen business council was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan on 9 February. Heads of leading companies of the Russian Federation are members of the council.

The council discussed preparations for the forthcoming Turkmen-Russian economic forum due to be held in Moscow in March this year during Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov”s visit to Russia.

The sides also stressed the importance of adopting a memorandum between the business councils of the countries the project of which is being drawn up now. They also stressed the efficiency of mutual active participation in international exhibitions and conferences.

It should be recalled that the Russian-Turkmen business council was set up in 2007. The Turkmen-Russian business council was set up in the end of the last year. 10 contracts are being implemented in Turkmenistan under the support of the council.
