DUSHANBE, February 13, 2009, Asia-Plus — A week-long visit of Defense Minister, Colonel-General Sherali Khairullyev, to the northern Sughd province is concluding today.

According to press service of the Ministry of Defense (MoD), the minister has visited the province to inspect military units of MoD deployed in northern Tajikistan.  Yesterday evening, he held a meeting in Khujand to discuss issues related to improving the provision of the military units with food products and uniforms as well as raising military discipline.

The MoD spokesman Faridoun Mahmadaliyev noted that the majority of military units in the country were provided with electricity regularly.
