DUSHANBE March 16, 2009, Asia-Plus  — After his five-day tour of Iran, President Emomali Rahmon yesterday morning flew to Ankara, Turkey where he attended an official ceremony of opening of the Tajik Embassy there, according to presidential press service.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan, senior representatives from diplomatic missions accredited in Turkey and some other officials also attended the building-opening ceremony.  The groundbreaking ceremony for construction of the new building was held in January 2006.     

During his stay in Ankara, President Rahmon held meeting with officers of the Tajik embassy in Ankara.  Speaking at the meeting, he expressed confidence that creation of good work conditions would promote making the work of the embassy more effective that would allow expanding bilateral mutually beneficially cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey.

Yesterday afternoon, President Rahmon departed Ankara for Istanbul to attend the 5th World Water Forum that is opening there today.
