KHOROG, April 24, 2009, Asia-Plus  — One person was killed and three others were injured on April 22 as car fell into the river in GBAO’s Ishkashim district, according to the GBAO police directorate.

The accident took place on the 53 rd kilometer of the rod from Khorog to Ishkashim Wednesday afternoon.  “The driver Amirgulkhon Aydarov could not control his YAZ-469 and it fell into the Ishkashim River,” said Mizrob Dorobov, a chief spokesman for the GBAO police directorate, “The driver was killed on the spot and his three passengers with different injuries were taken to the regional hospital in Khorog.”

Six traffic accidents have been registered in Gorno Badakhshan over the first three months of this year.  Two persons have been killed and five others have been injured in those accidents.
