DUSHANBE, July 11, 2009, Asia-Plus  — The European Union (EU) Troika delegation is arriving in Tajikistan on July 12 for a two-day working visit, according to the French Embassy in Dushanbe.

During its stay in Tajikistan, the EU Troika delegation is scheduled to hold talks with Mr. Matlubkhon Davlatov, State Adviser to the Tajik President for Economic Matters, Mr. Abdullo Yuldoshev, First Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. Jamshed Yusupov, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, Mr. Rustam Nazarov, Director of the Drug Control, as well as Mr. Muhiddin Kabiru Chairman of the Islamic Revival Party of Tajikistan (IRPT).

The EU Troika delegation members include Mr. Jan Nyberg, Director at the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Mr. Hans Olson, Ambassador of Sweden to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, Mr. Henry Zipper de Fabian, French Ambassador to Tajikistan, and Mr. Alberto Anton Kortes, Ambassador of Spain to Kazakhstan.  Mr. Pierre Morel, Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia and Caucasus, as well as Political Advisers for Central Asia Ms. Tatiana Lavseva and Ms. Baiba Aleksejuka represent the EU Council, and Mr. Thomas Frellesen, Deputy Chief of Mission for Central Asia, and Ms. Charlotte Adrian, Charge D’Affaires, the Delegation of the European Commission in Tajikistan, represent the European Commission.
