President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov has conducted a surgery operation on removing lipoma, a benign tumor, on a patient from the Balkan region, July 21, the Day of Health and Medical Industry Workers of Turkmenistan.

The famous German specialist, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Yohaness Senk assisted during the operation, which took place in the Cancer Center, opened yesterday in the south of the Turkmen capital. Doctor of Medicine, Professor Klaus Chaikovsky (Germany) and the Turkmen specialist, Candidate of Medical Sciences Musa Ismailov held anesthesia. The foreign medics arrived in Ashgabat on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of the State “Health” Program marked in Turkmenistan on these days.

“The patient, a resident of Balkan region, turned to the Research and Clinical Center of Oncology in Ashgabat last May with a complaint on a pain caused by a tumor behind the right ear. The examination showed the lipoma in the form of soft and flexible formation had quickly grown to enormous sizes over 20 years, and needed the prompt surgical intervention”.

According to an official report, the operation “went smoothly and was generally acknowledged a success”.
