“The government recently endorsed a 25 percent increase in electricity prices proposed by Barqi Tojik power holding,” the deputy minister said, noting that it will be the second electricity price rise in the country this year.  The first 25 percent rice in electricity prices was introduced in Tajikistan at the beginning of the year.

“Beginning of August 1, residential customers will pay for electricity at the rate of 7.5 dirams per one kWh,” Ashour said.

We will recall that current prices are 6 dirams for residential customers, 13.68 dirams for industrial enterprises and 5.44 dirams for federally funded institutions.  Tajik Aluminum Company (Talco) now pays 5.15 dirams for usage of one kWh of electrical power.
