DUSHANBE, August 11, 2009, Asia-Plus  – Dushanbe has hosted the 24th session of the CIS Council for Cultural Cooperation and the second consultative meeting of culture ministers from member nations of the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC).  Both meetings are being held today, according to the MFA information department.

The source at the Ministry of Culture says that the CIS culture ministers’ session is discussing a draft concept of cultural cooperation between the CIS states and a concept of development of education in the fields of culture and art within the CIS area.

The meeting participants are also supposed to discuss the process of implementation of the plan of priorities of humanitarian cooperation for 2009-2010 that was endorsed by the council of the CIS heads of government on May 22, 2009, the source said.

The meetings are expected to result in signing of final protocols.

The CIS culture ministers will also be received by Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov today.
