KHUJAND, August 18, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Officers from the Sughd customs service have detained nearly 5,000 liters of smuggled gasoline in the Bobojonghafurov district.

According to the Sughd customs service, their officers detained a truck GAZ-3307 loaded with 4,905 liters of 80-octane gasoline without any accompanying forms in the Qistaquz jamoat on the Bobojonghafurov district on August 17.  “Resident of the Mastchoh district, Qurbon Okhounov, purchased the gasoline in Kyrgyzstan without any customs declarations,” said the source.

Administrative proceedings have been instituted against Okhounov under the provisions of Article 597 of Tajikistan Administrative Code and his case has been sent to the Mastchoh district court.
