DUSHANBE, September 24, 2009, Asia-Plus  — The Ministry of Education (MoE) is seeking government’s support for establishment of industrial parks at Tajik higher educational institutions.

Speaking at the roundtable meeting entitled “Efficient Management of Financial Resources in the Higher Education System under Conditions of the Financial Crisis” in Dushanbe, the first Deputy Education Minister Farhod Rahimov noted on September 23 that the ministry has worked out a draft law on industrial parks and the ministries of economic development and trade and finance have already supported the bill.

According to him, the draft is currently under consideration at the Ministry of Justice (MoJ).  “If the government supports the draft law, our universities will have a good opportunities to set up production enterprises,” said Rahimov, “The bill describes all nuances, including privileges the industrial parks will have, how they will operate and how they can bring profit.  We hope the government will endorse the bill.”

An industrial park is an area zoned and planned for the purpose of industrial development.  It unites scientific-research organizations, industrial facilities, business centers, exhibition halls, educational facilities, as well as service facilities.
