DUSHANBE, October 21, 2009, Asia-Plus  — 7,139 crimes have been committed by Tajik nationals in Tajikistan in January-September this year and 2,720 of these crimes are connected with document fraud, Deputy Interior Minister, Ramazon Rahimov, told reporters in Dushanbe on October 21.

According to him, in 752 other cases, Tajik citizens have been involved in drug trafficking.

Rahimov noted that according to official data, 537,000 Tajik nationals are currently staying and working in Russia.

“In the meantime, 1,414 crimes have been committed against Tajik nationals in the Russian Federation over the same nine-month period and their fellow-countrymen themselves are suspected of having committed 50 percent of these crimes,” the deputy minister said.
