DUSHANBE, October 22, 2009, Asia-Plus  – Ten judges have been sacked over the first nine months of this year for gross violation of the country’s laws, the head of the Shuroi Adliya (Council of Justice) Shermuhammad Shohiyon remarked at a news conference in Dushanbe on October 21.

According to him, those judges have adopted a number of illegal and unfounded decisions and the president relieved them upon recommendations of the Council.

“Moreover, inspection has revealed that these judges failed to handle their job properly, and therefore, all decisions made by them before that were revoked,” Shohiyon said.

According to data of the Council of justice, 6,654 criminal and 20,240 legal proceedings as well as 2,692 economic cases have been brought before the courts over the report period.
