DUSHANBE, October 30, 2009, Asia-Plus  — A tremor measuring 5.0 on a 12-point scale jolted Dushanbe yesterday night at about  10:45 pm.

According to the Dushanbe seismology station, centered on the Tajik-Afghan border, some 130 kilometers southwest of Khorog and 270 kilometers southeast of Dushanbe, the quake could be felt in other regions of Tajikistan as well.  In the epicenter, the quake had a magnitude of 6.0 on the 12-point scale.

No damage or injured was reported in Tajikistan, according to the source.

It is already the second sensible tremor in Tajikistan over the past ten days.  We will recall that a quake measuring some 4.0-5.0 on the 12-point scale shook Dushanbe on October 23 at about 0:15 am.  Centered on the territory of Afghanistan some 295 kilometers southeast of Dushanbe, the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.0-6.0 in the epicenter.
