DUSHANBE, November 14, 2009, Asia-Plus — The Ministry of Defense (MoD) has reported completion of the autumn conscription campaign.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Faridoun Mahmadaliyev, a spokesman for a MoD, said that they fulfilled the autumn conscription target on November 13, 17 days ahead of the schedule. Last year, the autumn conscription campaign was completed on November 29.
The autumn conscription campaign is carried out in Tajikistan from October through November, and the draft affects able-bodied male citizens in the age bracket of 18 years old to 27 years old who are not members of the armed forces reserve.
