President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution “On measures on realization of action plan on strengthening bilateral relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United States of America” on 11 January 2010.

The document was adopted for further developing and strengthening of mutual bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and the USA, gradual realization of Strategic Partnership Declaration, bilateral agreements in various spheres.

The resolution approved action plan on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and the USA for 2010, which covers such spheres as politics, security, economy and development, peace and stability in Afghanistan.

One of the important events in the Uzbek-US relations will be the visit of the US State Secretary Hillary Clinton to Uzbekistan, which will take place in the first half of 2010. It is also planned to organize visit of the US congressmen to Uzbekistan.
