DUSHANBE, February 3, 2010, Asia-Plus — Children pranks have caused a truck fire in the northern Isfara district that has killed a 5-year-old boy, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
The tragedy took place in Isfara yesterday. Unattended 5-year-old Muhammadolimkhon Rahimjonzoda and 6-year-old Muhammadiqbol Rajabzoda were playing with matches near a heavy truck belonging to Muhammadibol’s farther. As a result of children prank the truck caught fire; the fire was extinguished, but the 5-year-old boy died of injuries received in the fire, the source said.
According to the MoI data, 66 fires and 48 fire-related accidents have been registered in the country since the beginning of this year. 17 people have been killed and 48 others have been injured in those accidents.
