DUSHANBE, February 26, 2010, Asia-Plus  — A February 26 government session, presided over by President Emomali Rahmon, considered some 40 issues, according to presidential press service.

Chairman of Khatlon’s Panj district reported on the process of the implementation of the Constitutional Law “On Local Authority” and senior representatives from the Main Directorate for Safety of Work in Industry reported on the results of the past year’s work.

Chairman of the Panj district and heads of relevant bodies were charged to take adequate measures to ensure rehabilitation 1,200 hectares of irrigation lands and construction of modern settlements in the district.

The cabinet also endorsed the national digital TV development program designed for 2010-2015 and a number of normative legal acts.

At the end of the meeting, the president set tasks on celebrating the Navrouz holiday at high level.  He also called on government bodies and local entrepreneurs to providing financial assistance to poor families on occasion of the Navrouz holiday.
