DUSHANBE, March 13, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Four persons were killed and one other was injured Friday (March 12) as a car fell into precipice in eastern Tajikistan.

According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), the accident took place in the afternoon on the Vahdat-Rasht-Jirgatol highway, 81 kilometers east of the city of Vahdat.

“The 59-year-old resident of Rasht district Zayniddin Ziyoviddinov could not control his Toyota RAV-4 and it fell into precipice,” said the source at a MoI, “The driver and his three passengers – 59-year-old Mohiston Ziyoviddinova, 54-year-old Nouriddin Ziyoviddinov and 49-year-old Mharamoy Ziyoviddinova – died on the spot, while another passenger, Nourullo Ziyoviddinov, who sustained serious injuries in the accident, was taken to the hospital.”

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
