KHOROG, March 13, 2010, Asia-Plus — The first session of the GBAO regional council of the fourth convocation that took place in Khorog on March 12 nominated Shodi Gulayozov, head physician of the GBAO regional hospital, as candidate for the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament).

Shodi Gulayozov, 54, was elected to the GBAO regional legislature on February 28.  He has been the head physician of the GBAO regional hospital since 2008.

We will recall that elections to the Majlisi Milli are scheduled for March 25, 2010 and Gorno Badakhshan, regions, Dushanbe, and cities and districts subordinate to the centre have an equal number of representatives in the Majlisi Milli (five each).
