DUSHANBE, March 18, 2010, Asia-Plus  — The third two-day session of the Tajik-Afghan intergovernmental commission for economic, scientific, humanitarian and cultural cooperation ended in Dushanbe yesterday with signing of a final protocol.

The document was inked by the commission cochairmen, Tajik Minister of Transport and Communications Olimjon Boboyev and Afghan Minister of Economic Abudl Hamid Arghandiwal.

According to the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC), the session considered 12 issues related to bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Afghanistan in the fields of energy, industry, agriculture, standardization, transportation, health care, education and culture.

The commission members also discussed the progress of implementation of joint protocols on economic and social cooperation signed during the second session of the commission.

The sides agreed to convoke the fourth session of the commission in Kabul, Afghanistan in March 2011.
