DUSHANBE, March 31, 2010, Asia-Plus — The official launch of the tolling management mechanism for the Dushanbe-Chanak motorway’s infrastructure will take place today not far from Chorbog check station (10km away from Dushanbe).
According to the representative office of the British “Innovative Road Solutions LTD” in Tajikistan, which is responsible for the introduction of this mechanism, Tajik Transport and Communications Minister Olimjon Boboev, representatives of a number of ministries and departments of the country and international partners are expected to take part in the event.
As reported earlier, the road which links the central and northern part of the country has two check points for collection of road fees. The road will have a total of seven tolling service stations to collect fees.
Drivers will have to pay for each kilometer of the highway. Thus, standard fee for motor cars, freight vehicles (with carrying capacity of up to 2 tons), passenger buses (with carrying capacity of 19 seats) is estimated at 30 dirams.
The tariffs were approved by the Tajik Ministry of Economy and Development, the “Innovative Road Solution LTD” has said.
