DUSHANBE, April 12, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Tajik athletes have won twenty-eight medals in various international tournaments and contests over the first three months of this year.

The first deputy head of the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs, Kabirjon Jourayev, told a news conference in Dushanbe on April 12 that Tajik athletes have won 8 gold, 6 silver and 14 bronze medals in various international competitions in January-March this year.

“Over the report period, our athletes have taken part in nine international tournaments and championships in Turkey, Japan, Poland, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and some other countries,” Jourayev said, noting that 12 sports events of the republican level have been conducted in the country over the same three-month period.
