DUSHANBE, May 4, 2010, Asia-Plus  — A ceremonial meeting devoted to the 65th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 will take place at the Opera and Ballet Theatre in Dushanbe on May 5, according to the Russian Embassy in Dushanbe.

The meeting is organized with support from the Russian Embassy, the command of Russian military base in Tajikistan and the Council of Veterans of Tajikistan.

Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Yuri Popov, senior representatives from Tajik ministries of defense and culture as well as commanders of Russian military base in Tajikistan and senior representatives from the Council of Veterans of Tajikistan will address the meeting to congratulate war veterans.

The meeting will be followed by a festive concert.  Singers from the Tajik Opera and Ballet Theatre as well as music groups Slavyane (Russian-Tajik Slavic University) and Yuzhny Forpost (Russian military base in Tajikistan) will perform the most popular songs of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
