KULOB, May 17, 2010, Asia-Plus — Tajik medical workers are taking measures to prevent an outbreak of infectious diseases in Kulob that was seriously affected by floods and mudflows in early May.
According to Said Davlatov, and official with the Ministry of Health (MoH), 9,000 anti-infective pills have been delivered to Kulob.
“Ten medical teams were set up to distribute the pills to residents of three streets in the city that were seriously affected by the recent flood and mudflows,” Davlatov said, noting that the pills were distributed to them on May 15.
Besides, ten centers for disinfecting dishes and two additional centers for distribution of safe drinking water have been established in the city.
