DUSHANBE, July 19, 2010, Asia-Plus  — 44 counties of the world have provided US$43.528 million worth of humanitarian aid to Tajikistan over the first six months of this year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

Over the report period, 93 tons of wheat for US$571,000, more than 10,000 tons of wheat flour for US$6.162 million, more than 2,700 tons of vegetable oil for some US$6 million, medicines and medical equipment for US$186.419 millions, US$2.3 million worth of footwear and clothing, as well as food products, electrical appliances and computers have been delivered to the country.

Among the donor countries the greatest share in value came from the United States – 43.1 percent, Kazakhstan – 14.0 percent, Germany – 8.2 percent, Russia – 6.9 percent, Denmark – 6.6 percent, Korea – 5.1 percent, the Netherlands – 3.5 percent, Latvia – 2.4 percent, Malaysia – 1.8 percent, Kyrgyzstan – 1.3 percent, India – 1.2 percent, Ukraine – 1.0 percent, Turkey – 0.7 percent, Austria – 0.6 percent, and Iran and Belarus – 0.4 percent each.
