DUSHANBE, July 19, 2010, Asia-Plus  — The NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen made a brief stopover here on Sunday while on his way to Kabul, Afghanistan, according to the Tajik MFA information department.

At the Dushanbe airport, Anders Fogh Rasmussen held talks with Tajikistan’s Minister of Defense Sherali Khairulloyev and Security Council Secretary Amirqul Azimov.

Cooperation between NATO and Tajikistan in fighting terrorism, illicit drug trafficking and the current situation in Central Asia and Afghanistan were the focus of the talks.

We will recall that an international conference on Afghanistan will open in Kabul tomorrow.
