DUSHANBE, February 15, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Officers from the GBAO police directorate have discovered an arms cache in Darvoz district, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

The source at a MoI says the cache containing two assault rifles Kalashnikov, one Makarov pistol, one RGD-5 hand grenade and 130 bullets of different caliber was discovered in the Odinamazor area near the village of Pushtirogh on February 14.

On the same day, one Makarov pistol was found in a dike on the outskirts of Dushanbe and three grenade shells for a grenade launcher were pulled from a canal in Khatlon’s Bokhtar district.

In all, 225 firearms, including 55 assault rifles, 35 pistols, 31 rifles, 25 grenade launchers, 153 explosives and large amount of bullets of different caliber have been confiscated or voluntarily handed over to police stations across the country since the beginning of this year.
