KULOB, March 26, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Neighbor dispute over the land parcel has led to murder in the village of Ziraki, Kulob district.

Ziraki resident Gulmahmad Shourov, 59, has been detained on suspicion of murder, the source at the Kulob police department told Asia-Plus on Saturday.

“On Friday March 25, following dispute over the land parcel Shourov struck his fellow villager Nazirmad Zohirov, 33, with a sickle,” said the source, “Zohirov died on the way to hospital.”

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Shourov under the provisions of Article 104 of Tajikistan’s Criminal Code – murder, and an investigation is under way.
