DUSHANBE, April 5, 2011, Asia-Plus  — On the occasion of the Capital City Day, an international tennis tournament will take place in Dushanbe on April 16.

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office, says the Dushanbe finance department is to allocate 4,500 somoni from the mayor’s reserve fund for Dushanbe Mayor’s Cup that will be presented to the tournament winner.

Besides, an international race dedicated to the Capital City Day will take place in Dushanbe and representatives of all regions of the country will participate in the race.  Representatives of cities across the world which are Dushanbe’s sister cities and capital cities of the CIS member nations are also expected to take part in the race.

The Capital City Day is marked in Tajikistan on the third Saturday of April annually and this year, Dushanbe marks the Capital City Day on April 16.
