DUSHANBE, May 4, 2011, Asia-Plus  — A roundtable to discuss cooperation between government bodies and media in Tajikistan took place in Dushanbe on May 3.

Organized by Tajikistan’s National Commission for UNSECO and the Independent School of Journalism “Tajikistan – 21st Century” (School) under support of the UNSECO Almaty Cluster Office, the meeting brought together representatives from president’s office, parliament, the committee for TV and radio-broadcasting, relevant ministries and media as well as experts to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the government bodies and media in providing information openness and reliable access to the socially significant information in Tajikistan.

The School director Safo Safarov says the event was dedicated to World Press Freedom Day the theme of which for this year is “21st Century Media: New Frontiers, New Barriers
