DUSHANBE, May 16, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Davron Muhammadiyev has been appointed to head the Moscow Regional Office of the International Federation of red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).

Davron Muhammadiyev was born in Dushanbe on December 23, 1970.  He graduated from Tajik State Medical Institute in 1992.  Muhammadiyev has the scientific decree of the Candidate of Sciences in Medicine.

Davron Muhammadiyev has been involved in humanitarian activity since 1996.  In 1992-1994, he was youth coordinator, Tajikistan Red Crescent Society (RDC).  From 1996 to 2005, he was vice-president of Tajikistan’s RCS.  In 2005-2006, he worked as delegate of the Netherlands Red Cross, heading the medical aid program for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Sudan.  From 2006 to 2009, he was head of the Netherlands Red Cross Representative Office in Tajikistan.  Since 2009 until new appointment, Muhammadiyev headed the health care programs at the IFRC Moscow Regional Office.
