DUSHANBE, May 18, 2011, Asia-Plus – Tajik police reportedly seized nearly 45 kilograms of narcotics across the country yesterday.

The Interior Ministry spokesman Mahmadullo Asadulloyev says some 29 kilograms of narcotics were seized in one operation in Dushanbe alone.  “When searching car belonging to resident of Khatlon”s Hamadoni district, police officers found several packages containing 28.7 kilograms of hashish,” he said.

On the same day, nearly 15 kilograms of hashish were seized in Hamadoni district, Khatlon province and more than one kilogram of cannabis were confiscated from resident of Istaravshan district, Sughd province, the spokesman said.
