KHUJAND, June 3, 2011, Asia-Plus  — The Prosecutor-General’s Office of Tajikistan has instituted criminal proceedings against Norkuzi Yuldoshev, chairman of the H.Turayev Farm in Panjakent district, Sughd province.

The source at the Sughd police directorate says the preliminary investigation has established that Yuldoshev and foreman from the mentioned farming unit Ural Sattorov received 2,900 U.S. dollars from resident of the Sarazm Jamoat, Ms. K.S., for allotment of a 0.6 ha parcel to her for housing.  “They, however, did not allot the land parcel to K.S. and spent the money for their own needs,” he added.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Yuldoshev and Sattorov under the provisions of three articles of Tajikistan’s Penal Code: Article 247 (4) – a large-scale fraud; Article 323 – service forgery; and Article 340 (2) – document forgery.  An investigation is under way.

According to the Sughd prosecutor’s office, 37 criminal proceedings for violation of the land code have been instituted in Sughd over the first three months of this year.
