DUSHANBE, July 11, 2011, Asia-Plus — On Saturday July 9, representatives of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’ lower chamber of parliament) handed over 5,300 books to the new National Library of Tajikistan.

Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, says the donation includes mainly fiction and social and political essays in different languages.  

The National Library is expected to be put in commission by September 9 this year.
