DUSHANBE, July 14, 2011, Asia-Plus — On Wednesday July 13, Minister of Finance Safarali Najmiddinov met here with Mr. Stephen Nellen, Swiss Ambassador to Tajikistan (with residence in Astana, Kazakhstan).

According the Ministry of Finance (MoF) Secretariat, the two exchanged views on state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Switzerland in financial and other spheres.

Najmiddinov and Nellen reportedly also considered issues related to cooperation in sectors like energy, industry and agriculture.  The sides also discussed activities of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Tajikistan.

Tajik minister, in particular, noted that a considerable progress had been made in carrying out reforms in various spheres due to assistance of the Swiss Confederation.  Najmiddinov expressed confidence in further expansion of cooperation between the nations, the source said.
