DUSHANBE, August 3, 2011, Asia-Plus  — President Emomali Rahmon’s visit to the northern Sughd province has started from the Yaghnob area in the Anzob jamoat, Ayni district, the presidential press service reports.

The president familiarized himself with living conditions of residents of Yaghnob and answered their numerous questions about power supply, medical aid, etc.

The head of state ordered relevant government bodies to develop the project for construction of a 26-kilometer road that would connect Yaghnob and the Anzob Jamoat, the source said.

The president then visited the city of Panjakent, where he attended a ceremony of opening of indoor pool.

In Panjakent district, Rahmon visited the Khalifa Hasan jamoat, where he got acquainted with activities of local farming unit Mehnatobod.  President’s meeting with Panjakent administrators took place in the Mehnatobod field camp.

In Panjakent, the president also attended a ceremony of an official opening of a new gold mining enterprise that has capacity of processing some 2,000 tons of ore per day, the source added.
