DUSHANBE, August 9, 2011, Asia-Plus – In the course of his working trip to Khatlon area, which started on Monday August 8, Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon gave the start to the construction of a huge water reservoir in Kulob.According to the President’s press service, new reservoir will be located on Tebolay River. It will occupy a territory of 65-70 ha. It’s dam will be 45m in height. The reservoir will be able to hold 14 million cubic meters.According to the press service, the reservoir will be filled by mudflows and rainwater.The reservoir will provide the population of Kulob with drinking water and will provide local farms with irrigation water.According to the plan, the reservoir will protect Kulob and its suburbs from mudflows in spring.According to the press service, yesterday President of the country visited Muminobod region and met with activists of the region. He answered multiple questions asked by local residents regarding the development of the region’s economy and social sector.President Rahmon’s working trip is under way.
