KHUJAND, September 7, 2011, Asia-Plus — A military parade and festive workers’ rally on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence took place in Khujand, the capital of the northern Sughd province on September 7.

A ceremonial meeting of the regional administrators with participation of Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov took place in Khujand Wednesday morning.

Festive events will end today evening at the Istiqlol (Independence) Stadium in Khujand, where a large festive concert and fireworks were held.
