DUSHANBE, December 10, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Tajikistan, Suhrob Sharipov, has probably begun to annoy certain circles by his criticisms, and therefore, they have decided to send him into ‘honorable exile’ to parliament, Tajik journalist Nourali Davlat said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

Nourali Davlat has no doubt about victory of Suhrob Sharipov in the parliamentary by-election scheduled for December 18.

According to him, Suhrob Sharipov has shown in his numerous statements made in recent years that he has his own vision of problems.  “He is not careerist and he will not shut his eyes to what is going on,” the journalist said.

Asked about a person who could replace Sharipov as director of Tajik think tank, he said that the person who would replace Suhrob Sharipov would be warned that “he must behave in a different way.”

Most likely, it would a new person, outsider, he said.  “I would not know who exactly will replace him.  It may be political scientist Rustam Haidarov or Director of the Institute of Philosophy Abduvohid Shamolov, or somebody else,” Nourali Davlat noted.

He considers that many Tajik officials do not realize the significance of the Center for Strategic Studies.  “In my opinion, this center exists just as a matter of form, though many talented persons are working with this center,” Davlat added.
