Jahon Kurbonov becomes third Tajik boxer to qualify for the Olympic Games

Tajik boxer Jahon Kurbonov (81kg) has qualified for the 2012 London Olympic Games after a 12:7 win over the Kyrgyz boxer Sergei Sklarov at the Asian qualification tournament in Kazakhstan, Kazakh media report.

Another Tajik boxer Sobirjon Nazarov (75kg) lost 2:13 to Abbos Atoev from Uzbekistan. Young and talented Tajik boxer Asror Vokhidov (49kg) also lost to his Japanese opponent Ijou Naoya (16:12) and lost an opportunity to go the 2012 Olympic Games.

This is the third license got by the Tajik boxers. Earlier Sobirjon Nazarov (75kg) and Anvar Yunusov (56kg) have managed to qualify for the forthcoming Olympic Games in London.

A total of 286 boxers (250 men and 36 women) will compete for 13 sets of medals.
