Two prosecutors sent in their resignation last week. The two investigated criminal case against ex-deputy and businessman Nizomkhon Juraev, a source in the police told AP.

Resignation was sent in by Emom Goibov, ex head of the investigation unit of the State Financial Control and Anti-Corruption Agency and Odyl Ochilov, in 2007-2008 head of the investigation unit of the Agency’s office in Sughd.

The information was confirmed by a high-ranking official of the Agency. However, it remains unclear whether resignation of the two is linked to Juraev’s case.

Tajik Prosecutor General’s Office refused from commenting upon the given information.

According to the source, investigation into Juraev’s case is still under way. “Part of the criminal case was already submitted to the court,” the source has said.
