Tajik law enforcement structures – Ministry of Interior, State National Security Committee and Migration Service – carried out Nelegal-2012 special operation on May 10-28.

As reported by the Tajik Ministry of Interior, the overall goal of the operation was to reveal ways of illegal migration, work out ways to combat human trafficking, take foreign citizens under control.

“A total of 53 foreign citizens were detained in the course of the operation on the territory of Korvon market place in Dushanbe. 5 of them were fined 4.400 Somoni in accordance with the Administrative Code,” the source reported.

A total of 87 foreign citizens, mainly citizens of China and Afghanistan, who fail to observe the rules of stay, were revealed in the country in the course of the operation. Total volume of imposed fines made 63.000 Somoni.

“A total of 16.264 foreign citizens from 110 countries were registered in Tajikistan this year,” the source added.
