DUSHANBE, June 11, 2012, Asia-Plus – Large consignments of hashish and heroin have been seized by police officers in two separate operations conducted in Hamadoni district, Khatlon province.

According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), two residents of Tajikistan and one Afghan national were arrested in Hamadoni district on June 8 on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking. 46 packages of narcotic drug that tested positive to hashish weighing 42 kilograms were confiscated from them.

More than 37.7 kilograms of heroin, 16.3 kilograms of raw opium, 10.7 kilograms of hashish as well as 3,752 MDMA pillars weighing 880 grams were seized in an operation carried out in the Sayrob village, Hamadoni district on the same day, an official source at a MoI added. A total weight of the confiscated narcotics was more 65.6 kilograms.
