DUSHANBE, June 15, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Tajik national air carrier, Tajik Air, has launched air routes from Dushanbe to New Delhi and Kabul.

The Tajik Air press center reports the flight from Dushanbe to New Delhi will be operated once a week — on Fridays.  The company will use Boeing 737 to operate this flight.

The first flight fro Dushanbe to New Delhi will be operated on June 29.  A ticket for the flight costs 240 euros.

Beginning on July 3, Tajik Air will also launch once-weekly service from Dushanbe to Kabul, Afghanistan.   The flight will be operated on Tuesday and Chinese-made MA-60 will be used to operate this flight.  A ticket for the Dushanbe-Kabul flight costs 180 euros.

Tajik Air (Tajikistan Airlines) is the national airline of Tajikistan.  The airline has its main hub at the Dushanbe airport, and it retains a secondary focus point at the Khujand airport.

The company started operations on September 3, 1924 as Tajik Aviation. Its first route was Bukhara to Dushanbe, served by Junkers F-13 aircraft.  It is the sixth oldest airline still in operation.

Tajik Air now serves the following destinations: China (Urumqi); Iran (Tehran, Mashhad); Kazakhstan (Almaty); Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek); Russia (Irkutsk, Moscow, Novosibirsk, St Petersburg, Samara, Sochi, Surgut, and Yekaterinburg); Tajikistan (Khorog and Khujand); and United Arab Emirates (Sharjah).
