DUSHANBE, August 28, 2012, Asia-Plus – An operation by drug control agency has led to the arrest of an alleged drug pusher in Dushanbe.

According to the Drug Control Agency (DCA) under the President of Tajikistan, resident of the Tojikobod district was detained in Dushanbe by officers from the counternarcotics agency yesterday on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking.

While searching an apartment, which the detainee rented in Dushanbe, the drug control officers found 102 wraps of narcotic drug that tested positive to heroin weighing some one kilogram, the source said.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug pusher under the provisions of Article 200 (3) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code –  drug trafficking; an investigation is under way.
