DUSHANBE, March 28, 2013, Asia-Plus – Tajik Journalists’ Union (TJU) jointly with the Ministry of Culture of Tajikistan has announced a new republican contest for local journalists – Media against Corruption.

According to press release issued by the Ministry of Culture (MoC), the competition is being held in the framework of the plan of actions developed by the National Council for Countering Corruption for implementation of the national anticorruption strategy designed for 2013-2020.

The main objective of the contest is in raising public awareness of corruption and ways to fight it, encouraging journalists to cover the corruption problems and involving media in creation of a favorable atmosphere for implementation of the national anticorruption policy.

Only the materials that were placed in print and electronic media from February 1, 213 to February 1, 2014 may participate in the competition.  The awards ceremony for the winners of this contest will take place on March 11, 2014.
