DUSHANBE, June 14, 2013, Asia-Plus — A kidnapper who was detained on June 10 has reportedly taken training course at two illegal religious schools in Hisor and Shahrinav districts.

The Interior Ministry’s website reports the preliminary investigation has established that Shahrinav district resident Abdusalom Rajabov, 48, who was detained on suspicion of kidnapping, has taken training course at two illegal religious schools in Hisor and Shahrinav districts.

According to the website, the 72-year-old Mansour Mahmoudov, also known as Sheikh Mansour, illegally taught children at his home in the Somon jamoat, Hisor district.  Besides, Mubinkhon Hodiyev, 45, also known as Qori Mubin, has been detained for organizing illegal religious school.  He was illegally teaching six children the basics of Islam at his home, the website says.

We will recall that the five-year-old Muhammadjon Toshev that was reported missing on June 9 was found on the next day and returned to his parents.

He disappeared after he went outside in the Ispechak neighborhood on June 9.  Parents of the boy reported his missing to the police station in Dushanbe’s Sino district on the same day.

Police officers found out that unknown man took him away.  The 48-year-old resident of the Shahrinav district, Abdusalom Rajabov, was detained on June 10 on suspicion of having committed that crime.

Muhammadjon was returned to his parents on the same day.

Meanwhile, the investigation has established that on June 8, Rajabov took three children – Khusrav Orifjonov, Farrukhjon Orifjonov and Foziljon Bouriyev – from the city of Qurghon Teppa, the capital of Khatlon province to the Bokhtar district of Khatlon.  The children were found on the same day.

The Interior Ministry’s website says the medical examination has established that Abdusalom Rajabov is mentally ill.

We will recall that two Dushanbe cousins – Sabina and Malika Aralova, age 4 and 6 — have been reported missing since late March.  They disappeared after they went outside to play on March 25.  Jumakhon Karimov, an official with the Ministry of Interior, told journalists on April 29 that is now classified as a kidnapping rather than a missing-persons case.  Karimov said that the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Interpol had been involved in the investigation into the disappearance of the girls.  However, they have not been found yet.
